There’s a specific class of job where a standard excavator simply can’t reach — and a long arm is the only safe way to do it. This is one.
Why a High Roadside Slope Needs a Long Arm Excavator
This photo shows our long arm excavator working a high, rock-lined slope beside a main road in Johor Bahru. The machine is dressing and reinforcing the embankment — reaching up and across the slope face from a stable position at its base.
A standard excavator arm doesn’t have the reach to work a slope this steep without the machine itself having to sit on unstable or dangerous ground. The long arm configuration extends that working envelope significantly, letting the operator treat the full slope face while the machine stays firmly footed on level ground.
Two things make this a specialist job. First, the equipment: extended-reach booms are a smaller part of any fleet, and GCM keeps several in rotation. Second, the operator: working a steep slope beside live traffic demands precise control and full safety discipline. Every GCM operator is CIDB-registered, JPJ and NIOSH-licensed, and works to the site’s traffic-management and safety plan.
Green City Machinery supports slope works, embankment reinforcement and roadside earthwork across Johor Bahru and the wider Johor region.
