Data centre construction programmes rarely run on a single shift. When the timeline is tight, work continues after the sun goes down — and the machinery has to be ready for it.
Between Shifts — What Round-the-Clock Data Centre Work Looks Like
This photo captures our excavator at our Iskandar Puteri data centre project site at dusk, between day shift and night shift — engine cooling down, ready to resume once the night crew takes over. It’s a quiet moment, but it reflects an operating rhythm that’s anything but quiet: this site runs on a programme that doesn’t pause when the sun sets.
It’s the same project where, earlier this month, our team installed a ripper attachment on a Saturday to solve an urgent hard-soil issue for the client. Between the weekend emergency response and the day-to-night shift handover, this is what sustained, high-pressure data centre construction support actually looks like.
All GCM operators — day or night shift — are CIDB-registered, JPJ and NIOSH-licensed, and our fleet is maintained to handle extended operating hours without unplanned downtime.
