How the Fleet Grew
Project Overview
JHB05 is a hyperscale data centre development in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, built out by a main contractor working alongside a wide chain of specialist packages. Green City Machinery supplies plant and haulage on site to Engenious Solutions Sdn Bhd, one of the project’s engineering contractors.
The job did not start at thirteen machines. It started at six. Our client’s first requirement was two working sets, each one a 20-ton excavator, a backhoe loader and a 10-tyre tipper lorry. That pairing was deliberate: the excavator digs, the backhoe handles the tight and finishing work, and the tipper takes the material away, all three from the same supplier and all three on the same schedule.
As the programme moved, the client came back for more. Today thirteen of our units run on site: four 20-ton short arm excavators, one long arm excavator for the deeper and harder-to-reach zones, two backhoe loaders, and six 10-tyre tipper lorries. Every unit runs with our own operator or driver, coordinated as one fleet under a single point of contact.

4 × 20-Ton Short Arm Excavator
The backbone of the site. General earthwork, cut-and-fill, trenching, and loading into our own tipper lorries.
1 × Long Arm Excavator
Brought in for the deep and hard-to-reach zones where a standard boom cannot work safely from the bank.
2 × Backhoe Loader
Confined areas, service trenches, backfilling and the finishing work around structures where a 20-ton machine is too much machine.
6 × 10-Tyre Tipper Lorry
Continuous haulage off site. Class ‘A’ permit lorries, so loads move legally on public roads without a separate haulage subcontractor.
